Milestone of India - TTDC inks pact with IOC. (Tamilnadu - India.)

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Indian Oil Corporation under which it will offer discounts to customers of the oil company at its facilities.

IOC customers who have Xtrarewards card will get 15 per cent discount on the tariff rates of the hotels and resorts of TTDC during select months.

At the signing of the agreement here on Wednesday, TTDC Managing Director A.C. Mohandass said TTDC has 54 hotels and resorts at various tourist destinations across the State and their tariff are affordable. The discounts would encourage the tourists to patronise both IOC outlets and TTDC hotels.

The IOC cardholders would also be eligible for a 10 per cent discount on the package tours organised by TTDC. The discount, however, would not be available on the Tirupati package and road-cum-rail tour, he said.

However, only five per cent discount would be available for the IOC cardholders during the peak season (April 1 to June 15) at the TTDC hotels in Kodaikanal and Yercaud.

Similarly, a discount of only five per cent would be available for the cardholders at the TTDC hotel in Ooty between April 1 and June 30. In Courtralam, the TTDC hotel would not offer any discount between July and August. Similarly, the discount is not applicable for the Mamallapuram resort from January 15 to 31, and for the hotel in Tiruchendur during the ‘Kandhasashti Vizha.'

The Xtrareward card is available at 288 select petrol bunks of IOC across the State, said IOC Deputy General Manager S. Ravichandran.
