Milestone of India - A Thirteen year-old Trivandrum (Kerala) releases catalogue of her paintings. (Mumbai - India.)

Mumbai: Not every 13-year-old is talented enough to start painting from the age of six and get appreciated from the stalwarts in the field. Neither is everyone lucky enough to hold six exhibitions in four years.

Varsha Renjit (13), a resident of Trivandrum, is a lucky combination of both. She released the catalogue of her paintings named ‘Raindrops' at the Press Club here on Wednesday, in the presence of Manisha Patel, Dean, Sir J.J. School of Art.

“I started painting when I was in Grade II to fill the void created by the demise of my grandfather,” Varsha said.

Appreciating Varsha's work, Ms. Patel said, “There is a freeness and spontaneity in her work. At such a young age she has tried various forms which are usually handled by mature artists.”

The function was attended by Rishi Raj Singh, Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation; Aswati G. Dorje, IPS officer; and S. Govindan, General Manager, Union Bank of India.
