TIRUCHI: The Kolkata-based All India Council for Mass Education and Development has conferred the C.R. Reddy Award for Excellency in Academics on K.Parthasarathy, Director, Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD), Bharathidasan University.
In recognition of his 25 years of service , Prof. Parthasarathy was honoured with the award and a gold medal by the Minister for Forest, Environment, Science and Technology, Andhra Pradesh, P.Ramachandra Reddy, at a function organised by the Councils' South India Regional Committee (SIRC) in collaboration with Larsen and Toubro limited in Chennai. The citation was presented by Justice G.M.Akbar Ali, Judge, Madras High Court.
The citation appreciated his contributions to the fields of Adult and Continuing Education and Entrepreneurship, and his academic contributions of completing 31 projects worth Rs 6 crore , publication of 32 books and 78 papers on socio-economic, culture and educational aspects and presentation of 150 papers in national and international seminars / conferences. Prof. Parthasarathy has served the university as NSS Programme Co-ordinator, Cultural Co-ordinator, Youth Red Cross Zonal Co-ordinator, Campus Diversity Initiative Co-ordinator, Placement Cell Officer and Extension Co-ordinator, and in other universities in different capacities. He steered the growth of IECD as an autonomous and self-supporting Community College of Excellence for six years .
