RAJAHMUNDRY: The Hindu-Eenadu Lifestyle Show has arrived here for the first time.
The River Bay is buzzing with activity with people visiting the stalls from Thursday morning.
The five-day show was inaugurated by international junior chess player B. Pratyusha. After going round all the 45 stalls in the show, Ms. Pratyusha said she had never seen such an exhibition in any country she had visited in the last six years.
‘Unique show'
“It is a unique show featuring various articles – from ethnic jewellery to modern wear – and it is definitely going to be a memorable shopping event for people here,” she said.
Referring to her shopping, the 14-year-old girl said she could not resist the temptation to buy herself a pair of stone-studded bangles in the show.
“I have already worn them,” she said while showing her wrists and flashing a smile.
The Lifestyle show is a shopper's choice, where they could pick up whatever they want from the hundreds of varieties of articles on display. Be it ornaments, leather items, sarees, dress materials, kitchenware, decorative articles, furniture or foodstuff, the show is the one-stop shop.
Traders from various parts of the country, who had been associated with the Lifestyle Show for many years, set up their stalls here. “We have been associated with the Lifestyle Show for the past six years and we have registered good sales wherever we set up our stall in this exhibition,” said Umarnath, manager of Chennai-based Abhi Imports and Exports.
Furniture ranging from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 74,000 is available in the stall and it is suitable for both office and residence purposes.
“The response from women is excellent in the recently completed show at Vijayawada. We have brought new varieties of sarees and dress materials here for the women of Rajahmundry,” said G.S. Sharma, sales in-charge of Hyderabad-based garment store Singhania's.
Sanjiv Kumar of Delhi-based ‘Leather Bags' is expecting a good turnout for his stall. Leather items, particularly laptop bags, are the special attraction here.
“We have been participating in all the Lifestyle Shows from the beginning and enjoying good patronage from the public every time,” he said. One could visit the show between 10.30 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. till Monday.
The entry fee is Rs. 10 per adults and there is no entry fee for children below 10 years of age.
The partners of the show include River Bay (hospitality), G.R. Tangamalai, Nuzen and Max New York Life Insurance (co-sponsors), Signature (cocktail partner) and Kingfisher (beverage partner). I Ads and Events is the event manager of the five-day show.
