Milestone of India - Rare privilege for pilgrims at Tirumala. (Andhrapradesh - India.)

Tirumala: The TTD management, in its attempt to ‘bridge' the gap and move closer to the common pilgrims, for the first time allowed the devotees to have the darshan of the presiding deity from Kulasekhara alwar padi ( the point up to which the VIPs are allowed for darshan) during the ongoing nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara.

The TTD management which is enjoying a ‘free hand' in the administration of the temple is altering its decisions on day-to-day basis suiting the requirements of the visiting pilgrims.

‘Laghu' darshan

It is against this backdrop coupled with a moderate turnout in pilgrims that the TTD Eexecutive Officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao during the last couple of days has instructed the temple officials to allow the pilgrims to have the darshan of the Lord from close quarters and switch over to the ‘Laghu' Darshan system ‘apropos' to the turnout in the pilgrim crowd which keeps vacillating hour-to-hour.

The TTD also facilitated the aged and physically challenged devotees to have the darshan of the Lord from the Mahadwaram ( main entrance) of the temple. Here it may be mentioned that the TTDs Specified authority resolved to dispense with the privilege of extending special entry to the deserving sections on temporary basis during the festival period with an intention to allocate more darshan timings for the devotees in the ordinary darshan queue lines.
