THANJAVUR: R. Malliga, principal, Periyar Centenary Polytechnic College here has bagged the ‘Best Scholar Award' given by the Tamil Nadu Government for the year 2008-09.
The award is given by the government for implementing the best teaching-learning process in the college, innovation in technical research, leadership quality, inculcating team spirit among students and total commitment to the progress of students.
Dr, Malliga received the award from K.Ponmudy, Minister for Higher Education, at silver jubilee celebrations of science club at Anna University, Chennai, recently. 24. K.Veeramani, Chancellor, Periyar Maniammai University, congratulated the awardee .
Dr.Malliga donated Rs.25,000 given along with the award to the polytechnic college to institute an award and give it to a student who gives the best science innovation to the college every year.
