VELLORE: A two-day exhibition of postage stamps, postal covers, pictures and manuscripts of Mother Teresa, organised by the Numismatic and Philatelic Association of Vellore Fort at the Town Hall here was inaugurated by V. Santhanaraman, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Vellore Division, on Thursday.
He said the exhibition reminds one of the importance of rendering service to the disadvantaged and living without hurting others, emulating the example of Mother Teresa. The exhibition comprises postage stamps released in various countries in memory of Mother Teresa. While the Postal Department would continue to print decorative seals, stamps released on special occasions would not be reprinted. These stamps would be available only with philatelists. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.
