Milestone of India - Piety marks annual ‘Pavithrotsavams' at TTD.

TIRUMALA: Piety marked the three-day annual ‘Pavithrotsavams' of Lord Venkateswara that began at the hill temple on Friday.
As part of the festival, which is also termed as ‘Sarva Dosha Nivarana' puja, ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam' was performed to the processional deities of Malayappa Swamy and his consorts at the Sampangi Prakaram inside the hill temple.

‘Pavithrotsavam', as the name suggests, is performed once in an year with the priests symbolically seeking pardon for all possible acts of omissions and commissions committed knowingly or unknowingly during the conduct of the daily rituals to the presiding deity. In connection with the festival the management has dispensed with the performance of certain day time rituals being performed inside the temple during the festival period.
OM NAMO VENKATESAYA !
