Milestone of India - Miestone in Brahmotsavam at Tirumala. (Andhrapradesh - India.)

TIRUPATI: APSRTC, which generally plays a major role in transporting pilgrims to Tirumala especially during the annual Brahmotsavams, has done it again.

With 25,000 trips, the public transporter has plied as many as 8 lakh passengers to Tirumala hills and back, till Friday. As the annual fete will come to a close by Sunday evening, the number is expected to touch 10 lakh. The RTC authorities had made elaborate arrangements ahead of the fete and introduced additional services from various places and identified new bus stops in the city. Garuda Seva is a major event when the ghat services alone touch a mind-boggling rate of a bus per minute, thanks to the heavy influx of devotees - both locals and from outside. For the D-Day, the corporation touched an unbelievable 3,900 trips for transporting 95,800 passengers, thus fetching Rs.26 lakh on the single day.
