Milestone of India - Eight teachers honoured with State award. (Goa - India.)

PANAJI: Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monseratte has said that over 3,000 teachers have been benefited by ‘Laptop to teachers' scheme.

Speaking at a State-level function held here on Monday to mark Teachers' Day, the Minister said the scheme would be extended to primary school teachers too.

Eight teachers were honoured with the State award for their meritorious service. The recipients were: primary school teachers – Chandrabhaga A. Shetgaonkar, Socorro, Porvorim, Bardez; and Shankar K. Budke, Talsai-Dharbandora, Sanguem; secondary school teachers – Subhash D. Lotlikar, assistant teacher, Scared Heart of Jesus High School, Carmona, Salcete; Dattatray K.K. Ghanekar, assistant teacher, People's High School, Panaji; Premanand P. Mahambre, headmaster, Dayanand High School, Chodan, Tiswadi; and Maria I.C. Gonsalves, headmistress, St. Thomas High School, Cansaulim-Salcete; and Shrikant More, teacher grade-I, Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao; and Subhash N. Naik, principal, Saraswat Vidyalaya Purshottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School, Mapusa.
