Milestone of india - Brahmotsavam at Tirumala - Lord Balaji sets out on ‘Chinna Sesha Vahanam' (Andhrapradesh - India.)


TIRUMALA: On the second day of the on-going annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara on Sunday, the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken out in a grand procession on ‘Chinna Sesha Vahanam' around the ‘mada' streets encircling the holy shrine. Thousands of devotees witnessed the divine festival which lasted for over two hours in the morning.

Earlier, the day began with special rituals inside the temple like – Koluvu, Panchanga Sravanam inside the Bangaru Vakili followed by ‘Ekantha Thirumanjanam' to ‘Utsava' deities at ‘Ranganayakula Mandapam' soon after the completion of the pre-drawn rituals which were performed in ‘Ekantham'.

Later in the afternoon, ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam' (celestial bath ) was performed to the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy inside the temple for the first time as part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams festival followed by Visesha Samarpana at Ranganayakula mandapam.

The day came to an end with the colourful procession of ‘Hamsa' Vahanam in the evening which was witnessed by tens of thousands of devotees.

‘Dwajarohanam'

Meanwhile, the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams took off to a scintillating start at the Tirumala temple on Saturday with the performance of ‘Dwajarohanam'.

The sacred yellow cloth bearing the imprint of Lord Garuda was ceremoniously hoisted atop the temple ‘Dwajasthambham' (flag post) signalling the commencement of the mega event.

The Dwajarohanam ceremony was conducted at the auspicious ‘Makara Lagnam' between 4.15 and 4.54 p.m.
