BHUBANESWAR: More than seven lakh devotees witnessed the Bahuda Yatra, the return car festival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in Puri on Wednesday.
The devotees pulled the three chariots from the Gundicha temple to the place outside the main temple of the deities covering the Grand Road amid tight security arrangements. The yatra passed off peacefully.
The pulling of the chariots began after the conduct of a series of rituals and the yatra was completed before the scheduled time. The Bahuda Yatra was also organised in the Capital city and many other places across the State. Thousands of people took part in the Bahuda Yatra held at the Jagannath temple at KIIT University and the ISKCON temple of the city.
