Milestone - College goer V. Rama enters Guinnes. (Tamilnadu - India.)

RAMANATHAPURAM: The Guinness Book of Records has recognised the effort of college-goer V. Rama (17) who has collected 549 types of hair clips and hair pins.

She has become the third person in a family here to figure in the prestigious Guinness Book.

Ms. Rama displayed her collection, which was created by visiting numerous fancy stores in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, in the presence of Collector T.N. Hariharan and office-bearers of Rotary Club of Ramnad on February 13 this year.

In a certificate issued by The Guinness Book of Records, the administrators stated that Ms. Rama possessed the largest collection of 549 hair clips and hair pins by an individual and it was the first of its kind in this category.

“I feel happy that I have figured in the achievers' book at the tender age. I gained support from my parents and brothers to achieve the feat. My brothers, who had already figured in the book, had inspired me,” said Ms. Rama, who is studying in the Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women in Kilakarai.

Her brothers V. Sundar and V. Sankara Narayanan have figured in the Guinness Book for holding 398 straws in the mouth and blowing out 156 candles in one attempt respectively.
