JAIPUR: Two students from far-flung areas of Rajasthan brought laurels to the state on Monday when they emerged top rankers in the prestigious Chartered Accountant final exams conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the results of which were announced on Monday.
While Nirmal Jain, a student from a nondescript town of Gottan in Nagaur district stood first among the 13,242 students who qualified the exam as per old scheme, Raghav Aggarwal, a resident of Sriganganagar, stood third in the CA final exam (New Scheme), in which 7424 students have passed.
“I am speechless. I couldn’t express my feelings in words. It was like a dream come true, I could not have asked for more,” said an elated Jain over phone from Gottan.
He completed his secondary and senior secondary from the government Hindi medium schools in Gottan and Merta respectively. He had always scored in nineties in accounts and mathematics.
In fact, he turned out to be a gem for government schools who face criticism for not delivering toppers in all India competitive exams. “It is a dynamic profession which allows you to work for a company and even practice individually with no retirement age,” said Jain while explaining why he has chosen to become a CA. Due to his interest in numbers, he is more inclined towards chess rather than cricket or football.
