KOCHI: Archbishop Francis Kallarakkal of Varappuzha received the Pallium from Pope Benedict XVI at a function at the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome on Tuesday in the presence of thousands of Catholics. The Pallium is bestowed to indicate the powers extended to the Archbishop by the Holy See.
A press note said that there were a total of 37 bishops, from all over the world, who received the Pallium from the Pope.
