Milestone in Andhra Pradesh Govt's New Industrial Policy. (South India - India.)

HYDERABAD: Confederation of Indian Industry, Andhra Pradesh, welcomed the new industrial policy 2010-15 and said it would give a big boost to the micro, small and medium enterprises, manufacturing and food processing sectors.

The decision to reserve 30 to 40 per cent of at SEZs for MSMEs, offering reimbursement of VAT/CSO 100 per cent for micro enterprises and 50 per cent for small enterprises would go a long way in strengthening the sectors. It also appreciated linking of mega projects with employment generation of more than 2,000 persons.

Jayadev Galla, vice-chairman, CII AP and MD, Amararaja Group, said the policy was positively inclined towards skill development and women empowerment. CII was also for incentives on employment subsidy and patent registration and cleaner production included in the policy. He said that the government should also prioritise employability and ensure enough employable skill resource base .

In a separate statement, the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce(FAPCCI) also welcomed the industrial policy.

The Industrial policy 2010-15 has several welcome features, giving major thrust to Medium, Small and Mini Enterprises(MSME), food processing industry, Textiles and also service sector, its president Shekhar Agarwal said here in a statement.
