NEW DELHI: Gagan Narang's world record score while winning the 10m air rifle gold was the highlight of India's domination in shooting at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday. A further gold each from Omkar Singh and Anisa Sayyed took India's gold tally in shooting to five.
Narang shot an aggregate of 703.6 to better his own mark, but the record may not be ratified by the ISSF as this competition does not figure in its approved list for such records. Narang shot a perfect 600 in the qualifiers. Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, who partnered Narang to win the pairs event on Tuesday, bagged the silver. It was the second successive gold for Narang. There was celebration in the weightlifting hall too, when K. Ravi Kumar (69 kg) and Renu Bala Chanu (58 kg) won a gold each, while wrestler Rajender Kumar kept the home camp's spirits high with a gold in the 55 kg Greco-Roman category. At the end of day four, India's gold haul stood at 11.
